After 6½ hrs we’re now past half way and into French waters – vive La France!!!!  

One of the crew just caught a small cod (a bit premature for celebrations but the signs are looking good).  Kaise has just swum through a few metres of seaweed and is now pausing for his 10^th feed (at 400min point) of the usual water, glucose drink and now added a power bar.

He’s now mixing a few breakstroke into each 40min stint (i.e. after each feed) and stretching his shoulders to keep them loose.  Coach Daniel reckons that he’s now peaked and hoping to hold it there with his spirits high.  He has just jokingly asked “are we there yet?” 

Kaise’s wife, Mother, Aunty and cousins just called from the caravan park above the cliffs of Dover.  They’re weren’t worried but just eager for an update.  They decided not to meet us on the French side because in the morning the English cabbie struggled to find the starting beach so who knows what difficulty they’d have on the French side with the language barrier and tides affecting the exact beach Kaise could finish at.

Ryan’s preparing for his third hour in setting the pace for Kaise.  He’s well rested and ready to go.
