about 30 mins to go

2:30am AEST - Mon 14th July

It’s been a bit over 12 hours for Kaise with the finish line clearly in sight … about 30 mins to go.  The swim has gone almost perfectly to plan in terms of navigating the channel with the tide movements and expected time.

He is still doing well and joking with the crew like when Daniel told him that he’s only 3Kms away but needs to put his foot down (so to speak) then Kaise replied “ok, it’s party time!!!!!”

The only thing is that Kaise’s hips have began locking up every now and again from fatigue so stops are a little more regular for a quick stretch … nothing major.

The weather has been picturesque and very favourable for the swim.  Almost no cloud cover, a warm day and just enough wind to keep that large Australian flag displaying proudly … which will also soon be wrapped around Kaise’s shoulders for memorable photos on the French coast.

Cheers,

Hanna
