3am AEST - Mon 14th July

After 12½ hrs of maintaining an amazing pace, Kaise was escorted by Ryan and the dingy to an empty French beach just off Cap Gris Nez to wrap up this 2½ year swimming journey of his.

As expected, there was no “jumping for joy” after all these strenuous hours just modest celebration … true to Kaise’s character.

Coach Daniel and the captain Andy were commenting how Kaise’s pace was quicker at the 9hr mark than when he first started … he was only warming up and maintained it through to the successful end.

After some quick photos Kaise will be swimming AGAIN back to the boat to warm up, get some sustenance and I bet asking his younger sister for a massage.

When he’s ready, we’ll talk to him and update you all again.

Cheers,

Hanna

CONGRATULATIONS KAISE AND THE TEAM! Knew you could do it because of all the hard work and dedication you have put into the past 2.5 years and as said be Vince Lombardi "I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious."<br>
